i'm jes - a multidisciplinary artist, appalachian witch, and tarot reader based in pittsburgh. collage is my primary medium. i've always felt a deep need to channel my experiences into something tangible; collage gives me that. it's impulsive, it has limitations, and it's one of the most expressive ways i know how to problem solve. i view it as a ritual of surrender. a way to tune into my intuition. that's exactly what tarot is too.

my work focuses on nature, radical self love, healing, and the unknown. it has taken the form of stand alone pieces, series, zines, and comics. my ongoing project Khloris, a fantasy comic series made in analog and digital collage, was featured in Best American Comics Notable Comics Lists in 2018 and 2019. i've exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Contemporary Art, Short Run Seattle, Toronto Comic Arts Festival, and Small Press Expo.

i started making Weird at Heart after falling in love with tarot. what began as a creative project became a deeper relationship with tarot, with myself, with the archetypes. over the course of creating it i came out as nonbinary, came into my neurodivergence, and lived every archetype along the way. this deck is a record of that relationship.

when i don't have a pair of scissors in hand you can find me hiking or tending to my garden.
